gen 1 hms This is a topic that many people are looking for. khurak.net is a channel providing useful information about learning, life, digital marketing and online courses …. it will help you have an overview and solid multi-faceted knowledge . Today, khurak.net would like to introduce to you Why We DON T Need HM s In Pokemon. Following along are instructions in the video below:
” s up everyone super dare daniel here once again hms holy sweet arceus do i i hate hms hms or hidden machines or a subclass of pokemon moves. That includes such as flies surfing cots. They ve been a staple of the pokemon franchise from the beginning and by staple of course. I mean that they forcibly staple to your arms and legs.
So you re forced to use them they re basically always uses moves such a verse through obstacles to help the player get further in the region. But beyond that they re just useless. Hm moves. Only served to waste.
A move slot. That could be better serve for something more useful and today. I m going to tell you exactly why i personally think that we don t need hm moves in pokemon anymore. Where the biggest annoyances with hm moves has always been their semi permanent state and by that i mean the fact that you can t easily get rid of them like you could with other moves.
You see for whatever reason game freak. Decided that would be a good idea to make it so hm moves couldn t be overwritten with other moves once they ve outlived their usefulness. Hello. So you ve gotten past all the dark caves.
You want to get rid of flash. Huh well too bad. You taught your pokemon have flash. You know.
It s stuck with it forever. Now the obvious workaround for this is to take your pokemon to a person called and move to leader who makes your pokemon forget any move instantly for no charge. Truly these people are doing charitable work. I mean this should be called npcs this should be called nps s not playable saints.
But for real though this freak can be if if i do this. Except that pretty much all of the move two leaders live in towns that are more than halfway through your journey through any given region meaning that you re spending more than half the game s main story with a move that you don t even want and probably don t have any use for by the time you get there. Oh. If you re playing a gym.
One. Game. You re double. Because move.
Two leaders were introduced until. Gen. 2. Hope.
You like your. Alka sam being stuck with flash despite having an iq of 5000. And the reason that that s an issue is because hm moves almost universally suck in battle as actual moves seriously. Do you know anyone competitive or casual.
That actually likes using hm moves as actual moves. The only ones that i feel are truly useful as moves are surf. Because with sandy bass power and ability to hit every pokemon on the field defog. Which can get rid of screens and entry hazards and waterfall.
Because it s an 80 base power physical water move with a chance to flinch feeling that they re just not good attacks to use because they re out classes actual attacks play others of the same type let s take strength for an example this will attack with a knee base power 100 accuracy. But no additional effects not bad. Except lee they could easily be replaced with body slam. Which has a chance to paralyze hyper fang.
Which has a chance to flinch extreme speed which gets increased priority razer win. Which has a high current ratio or try attack which could freeze paralyze or burn. The opponents. But honestly i think the number one reason why hm moves should just be done away with is that their effects could easily be replicated by items or even by inherent pokemon traits the biggest reason for the existence of a chams is for getting through obstacles right seems useful for the problem is that with a little thought you could easily replace just about every hm move with either a key item or an inherent trait of a certain kind of pokemon need to get across the body of water get yourself a raft need to get past knee high trees get yourself a gardening saw find yourself at its arcade.
Well. I hear that there s this great new adventure called the flashlights and this or some other hm moves. Remember how i said that inherent traits. We come into play really mean by that is that certain kinds of pokemon can be used for those obstacles basically what they should be able to do naturally.
Qualitex should be able to carry trainers. The city s fighting types or maybe. Even pokemon just above a certain height weight should be able to leap. Large boulders water type should be able to pull you and your nifty wrapped up a waterfall.
Etc. Now obviously if it does still need to be a certain limit of some kind on this which is why i think you shouldn t be able to do these. Things. Let s say you have a certain gym badge.
I mean think about it that s usually the limiting feature for hms right you can only use the hm moves outside of battle with the proper gym badge. Because it shows your mastery command over your pokemon. This is literally the same set your gym bag shows your ability to train your pokemon to performing specific actions for you the only difference. Now is that we re not wasting a move slots the very reason for the existence of hm moves to get around certain obstacles and roadblocks in the pokemon world could easily be replicated by items or just by a pokemons inherent abilities and that for me is the biggest reason.
Why we don t need peach and lose in pokemon anymore. What do you guys think do you think hmos are still useful or have they overstayed their welcome.
