Today, khurak.net would like to introduce to you WHAT IS AN AIRCRAFT LEASING COMPANY?. Following along are instructions in the video below:
“Eight five one turn right what is an aircraft leasing company what does it do do how does it deliver planes hello everyone welcome to dj s aviation and i hope you all enjoyed this video where i answer all these questions aircraft leasing companies. Despite being very dominant aren t always something that people know a lot about this question has been highly requested in my comments and hence. Why today. I m making a video on it in simple terms.
An aircraft leasing company is like a house renting business. But of course your tenants are airlines and they are always going to be paying you on time safety and legal agencies make sure that they marina. The planes well and they lease the planes out for long periods of times two carriers for the most part it may be between five to fifteen years or it can of course be shorter as an aircraft leasing company you don t need to advertise. Which is why you might not always hear a lot about them these companies are always and i mean always in demand from carriers and therefore don t need to promote their brand as much as airlines of course.
If an aircraft leasing company has the plane you may think they need to pay for fuel costs and maintenance fees. But they don t once again. It s similar to renting a house. The minute that airline takes the aircraft from the leasing company.
It is their responsibility and there s only therefore they pay for the fuel and maintenance costs just like a renter of a house would pay to fix their gutters or heating..
So why do airlines need to lease planes funnily enough nearly half the planes in the sky right now are being leased by the airlines from a leasing companies. There are a number of factors. Which of course. I ll be diving into during this video an example of why a leasing company may be needed is let s say qantas ordered 25 airbus a320s and then after ordering.
These aircraft realized they needed a further five to meet the high demands for air travel. If qantas were unable to pay the total fee for the next five a 320s. The air crew leasing companies would now come into play. They ll usually offer the a320s at a very cheap price and then literally just hand the aircraft over and what s a positive from this you may ask well through the leasing of these five aircraft.
If demand does drop for air travel in australia. And qantas. Realizes that they only need 25 a320s instead of the 30. They can send them back to the leasing company.
What s the beauty of this these aircraft will be reused again with another carrier..
It s a continuous cycle and for the most part it means that aircraft will always be used and pushed harder than most other planes in the sky. Why else would airlines lease planes well the price now is another reason if you want to purchase a plane outright you re without a doubt going to be paying a rather. Hefty price and for the most part new airlines are simply unable to afford that existing airlines may not want to put all their money also into buying one aircraft there is no firm evidence. But some figures do show that airlines can get up to a 70 percent discount of each plane they lease the following discounts can be applied on the 747.
8. Model. You can allegedly get a 59 percent discount on the list price on the a320. It s fifty eight percent on the 737 800.
At 63. And the numbers of all other aircraft really hover around the 45 to 55 percent mark and in terms of money. This is a huge amount especially when you re in the millions you need to also remember these aircraft are extremely expensive to begin with so to have the numbers haft can be extremely beneficial to any airline in fact the largest discount recorder is for the boeing triple7 200. Alar and then is worked out to be over 60 off the list priced.
It can sometimes even get into the 70s..
Another key point is there are in fact multiple leasing types. There s a thing called a dry lease. Which is where the lessor provides an aircraft without insurance crew ground staff supporting equipment maintenance. And so on this means.
It s all the airline s responsibility a wet lease. Which is where the lessor provides an aircraft complete with the crew maintenance and in surance. And this is defined almost as a charter plane then there is a damn place this is similar to a wet lease. But the leasing company won t provide the cabin crew services finally.
I ll cover the sale and leaseback option. This is where an airline which has bought an aircraft sells the aircraft they purchased to a leasing company they will sell this at the current market price then wait for it they immediately leased the aircraft back to the airline who originally purchased it so finally. What are some leasing companies well there are surprisingly a large amount located throughout the world and here just some that you may have heard of and i may have brought up in some videos of mine. Avalon air lease corporation.
Who have recently popped up in one of my videos. Milestone aviation group genesis lease and fly lease.
