“Guys i think i found the best kept secret in home theater right now. I i cannot wait to show this to you play the intro today. I m gonna talking to you about a new blu ray player that i just recently picked up. I know what you may be thinking.
Andrew. Didn t you just get a new blu ray player or a few months back. Yes. I did and it s actually the third one i ve bought technically the fourth if you count my xbox one s.
That i still have but basically i ve been on the hunt for basically. What i like to call the perfect blu ray player. What does that mean i had a philips blu ray player. The first 4k blu ray player i owned was a philips that one was not that bad.
It was pretty solid. It did have some issues outputting hdr at times. So i got rid of that and i ended up getting a sony. I got a sony x.
800. Which i ve had for quite a while now probably about a year or so. And honestly. It s been the best 4k player.
I ve ever owned. It s probably the best blu ray player. I ve ever owned and honestly. I didn t have any issues with it it was fantastic it did great with hdr output.
The output of sound and did dolby atmos with no problem it did indeed dts dts x with no problem no issues with it however after i bought that blu ray player i not only did my surround sound receiver. I got a new surround sound receiver because i got a new tv that is dolby vision capable i have a 65 inch vizio. It s the p series model the 65 inch p series and honestly it s the best tv. I ve ever owned the hdr on it is incredible the black levels on it are fantastic.
It s a it s a phenomenal tv. It s a great tv and i have calibrated it to basically perfection at this point it s outstanding. But i i love the tv..

I never had any issues with it but the one thing until very recently. I ve never been able to explore is dolby vision capability and dolby vision is something that is not widely adopted yet some studios have adopted actually i have two of my favorite dolby vision discs here next to me one movies good one movies bad. I ll let you guess. Which one is which but both movies are phenomenal looking.
I have not reviewed them yet in this channel. Because i want to do a comprehensive review. I don t want to talk about certain things i want to review them in full now. That i have a new blu ray player that does dolby vision discs.
I am overjoyed to bring you reviews for those discs. Now also i will be bringing you a review of fast and the fate of the furious or fast and furious. 8. Which i can t believe they made eight of these movies.
But the i mean most of them pretty good. But anyway. I ll be reviewing that soon enough as well. But these two here i ve watched now and i got this now this guy right here.
As you can see i kind of hold up the box. This is the philips. It s the 7502 and i oh my god i can t speak highly enough of this thing. This is such a great great blu ray player.
Now. The model here is a little different. It says. Bd p.
70. 302. Now. The reason.
Why that is is that i got this from sam s club and sam s club is carrying this at a deep deep discount right now at the time of filming this video. This was 129. I m gonna give you a little hint on how outstanding of a price that is there is literally two other players on the market right now that can do dolby vision..

There is an lg player. Which i think they actually pulled the update for i m not completely sure about that but i guess it had the update and then it didn t and then they put it out again and now they pulled it again. So i don t know what the hell is going on with that lg player. But the other player besides that that does dolby vision discs right now is the oppo and the oppo 203 and i think 205 pardon me if i get those model numbers wrong.
But the oppo is like 800 and the lg is like 300 or 200 something at last. Check this is 129 okay now again on. Amazon the 7502 is 199. Again still not that bad of a deal considering.
It s one of three blu ray players on the market. Right now that can do dolby vision. Okay. This guy here is a beast.
This thing is a beast. This is definitely not a cheap product the actual construction of this is actually pretty sturdy. It it does have kind of a hollow feeling it is metal. It s metal with like a kind of a plastic front.
But i do want to say what it lacks in frills. It s basically no frills. I will tell you it makes up for in performance this blu ray player is out standing it may be the best one i ve ever bought dolby vision output on this thing is outstanding these two movies looked absolutely mind blowing the dolby vision is crisp it s clear everything i ve seen so far in this has been amazing. There is absolutely no handshake issues.
There s no issues with sound output. It outputs perfectly. Now you do have to set the sound to bitstream out in the menus. There s a section.
Where it says like downgrade audio or sub down mix audio is actually the terminology. They re using you have to change it to bits string to get the pure audio stream. Once you ve done that you get the exact output. That s on the disc.
There s no downgrading there s no nothing you get what s on the disc. Which is amazing. Because i even had a few issues with that with a couple discs with the sony player..

But this guy here holy crap. What an amazing blu ray player for this price also something else. That s pretty standing with this disc is the fact that it really only took me about five minutes to set up under five minutes really once i got it hooked up to the wi fi in my house. The update took less than two minutes to do and that actually brought in the dolby vision capability.
The other nice thing is that unlike the the lg player. I ve seen a lot of lg player reviews because i actually thought about buying that one i saw a lot of reviews on youtube here and on other websites that the lg sounds like a goddamn jet engine. When you re playing it. Which is again that can happen with some of these high end blu.
Ray players never had a problem with the sony. With that the sony was very quiet this i m also proud to say is also very quiet. The disc tray when it comes out clanks a little because it has a little draw a little door that opens. But other than that it is quiet quiet quiet you cannot even hear it running in a room especially of you if you have the movie playing you can t hear it over the movie again.
I can t speak highly enough about this thing. One other thing i want to mention to you which i think actually increases the value of this even more so is that i don t advertise this for some reason. I don t know why they don t advertise this but this player also upscales a regular blu rays to 4k in dolby vision. I m not kidding it actually upscales all regular 2k blu rays in other words 1080 blu rays it actually will play that disc in 4k in dolby vision.
If you have a dolby vision tv. If not it plays an hdr 10. I watched the thomas crown affair on this and i put the disc in now. I actually had already watched that 4k remaster which i ll be reviewing in the upcoming weeks.
I ve already watched that on a on the sony x 800. And it looks great it looked fine in 4k with no hdr with this with that hdr turned on the colors are an overdrive and it is beautiful look at now some will say it probably will over saturate certain colors. I am not seeing that now i ve also read that the samsung. I think the m 9500.
I think that s the one again i m sorry if i don t know all these these names offhand. But the samsung m 9500. I ve heard also turns people into palookas and they turn orange and i ve read that from many reviewers and even made many people on youtube and so i stayed far away from the samsung. One i also heard that that one sounds loud and it s kind of cheaply made this guy here.
Even though it really isn t the greatest thing in the world. It is a fairly small footprint. It s not the biggest blu ray player..

I ll kind of put some footage in here. So you can see it. But again. It s pretty light and it actually has dual hdmi outputs.
Which is really nice too so. If you want to do a audio. Only output you can actually do that as well i don t have that setup in my system. But if you want to do that you can but i have to say all in all this philips blu ray player i highly highly recommend this thing if you are looking for a blu ray player for your home theater.
This thing is on real. If you have a sam s club membership go online and buy this thing right now ok. If you don t they do not sell this in stores. They do have it on amazon.
I have not been able to find this at a best buy near my nearby my home here. But i highly recommend the philips 7500 or in this case. The 70 302. This is the one that s at sam s club again they changed the model number.
But it is the exact same player they always do this at the wholesalers clubs like again if you buy i think the samsung blu ray player i mentioned earlier if you buy at at like bj s or costco. They change. The model number to something else again it the exact same player. It s just a different model number because it s going through a different chain also it has um some smart apps in there.
It s got like netflix and stuff. Like that if you re into that i m not gonna use this for video streaming. But if you are gonna use it for that it can do it so this little guy does it all and again that dolby vision. It the software update is out it works.
