“Everyone it s jenny w. And today. I m gonna be using these two portable portable printers to print out a couple pictures for an art journal. You ll have excuse that noise in the background.
That is my bunny cottontail. She s over there against the wall in her cage. And she s drinking out of her water bottle. So.
If you hear that noise in the background. That s her um. But here we go i ve got these two portable printers here. This is the canon iv.
In the kodak mini 2 printer. I haven t done a review on this yet. But i figured i d do this video just to compare the length of time that it takes to print to pictures. And you know use nap and then print out the same picture on both of them.
And maybe i ll let y all decide for yourself on that sorry about the lighting. If it s not that great. It is currently dark outside and i m using the light in the room as well as a ring light lamp above my desk. So hopefully this will help them the white up the desk and stuff will help too.
But here we go let s get started first thing. I m gonna do is we re gonna use the canon ivy. You ve seen me print out pictures from it before my videos. So i m just gonna turn it on and you see the white light well.
It s my camera focuses on white light right there. And i am gonna go in here. And i m just gonna show you my phone that way. I know i might try to do a video and video and just show you but it s asking if it can connect to the mini printer so what i m gonna do first i m gonna hit allow on that and and we re going to do a video here i m going to go into the app.
Which is where did it go i lost it i lost it mehrdad the day and bingo..
There s the kodak one we re just gonna open it like that all right so it is connected the top right hand corner. Where it says the battery and everything on the prior that is green. So it means. It is connected to it if it was grayed out then it would not be connected to it we re gonna go to the picture gallery so i m gonna click on that and i m gonna select this picture here it is my grandparents house it was recently tore down and i would like to put that in an art journal kind of the before how it looked and then the afterwards of it being tore down.
So i m going to select the top right hand button. You ll see that it moves over and it is going to be printed. So now we wait and see it print. There we go this is real time to much try to do this in short of the video as i go because i m going to load it on my computer.
But this is just real time as far as the printing both of these you don t ever want to grab the picture and pull it out this one here is a zinc printer. So the ink and everything is kind of built into the paper. I guess you d say i think it works off of you know maybe the temperature or something in the printer. I m not sure on that if you know for sure you can leave a comment down below.
But they re both should be about the same size size of a credit card. But here is that picture this is just the front of the house. But yeah this is the front of the house and the stonework right here my grandpa did he did that star mark as well and then the red around it that s like concrete or something he did that too. But that s just kind of the front porch area it means a lot to me.
So i wanted to have that so there s that the can and i be printing it out now this would be the first time i ve ever used this one so again. I m going to exit out of this and going to go to that again show my phone. So i know when to load that video on there and we re going to go over here turn the printer on and it has a little light on it you can see that printer is on we re going to go over here to settings and bluetooth. And we re going to connect to the kodak mini be five five five.
Okay. It says. We don t have that installed for it so we re just gonna go ahead. I guess.
It s this one we re gonna go ahead and download it hopefully don t take that wrong yes. I didn t need this one just waiting for it to download. I m sorry for taking so long all right there we go so let s go back here. I do have it connected.
It is connected so i m going to go back to this says..
It found a printer up there at the top left hand corner. So we re going to go to gallery now i do want to access my pictures. We re going to go to this one here. I do want to edit it so for that we re going to go to edit up here.
And i do want to fit the whole picture in there. And yeah. That s pretty much it yeah. It looks good so i m just going to go up here to print cuz.
I m not gonna use a filter. We re just doing this oh my gosh says. It s updating firmware as well which you can see on the screen. So it s hope good you can see while we re waiting.
There is two lights on this the top one is the power light stone that it s on and it is doing an update. It s blinking and then the bottom one is the bluetooth which it looks like looks like i m gonna have to turn this printer back on like that and let s hope that it connects to connect it again go back here to the app gallery go back and do the photo again we re going to edit and i want the whole picture so and then we re gonna go print so we re gonna see how long this takes to print it says warming up and this is real time. I m gonna leave this on my screen as well so you can see the video how long it takes and everything to print now. This is a for what is it for or past technology.
So you will see the picture come out and go back in you ll do it ll see different colors. You ll see like yellow. And like blue and like pink. And what it does is it does those different layers.
And i m the finished layer is a clear kind of protectant. A laminate so the picture is waterproof and then i believe these are also sticker paper too so that s pretty cool. Because the cayman paper is sticky paper. Too it s going to be pretty neat.
Seeing the differences and stuff and how this picture turns out. But you see it s going in and out. And you ll see the different stages of it like that was this the pink and then it s doing like i think. This is the normal colors.
Maybe don t know where that streak is coming from then i got a green streak on it there yeah see this like green streak..
Right there i don t know what s going on with that but it is very vibrant and stuff compared to this one like and actually i mean. It s a little bit bigger baby. I don t know cuz. I have the border on there may be a need to adjust it but we re going to redo this here i m just going to do the exact same thing and print it out so i m gonna turn the recording off on my phone and we re gonna print it out again give me ones like okay i m back so this here was the canon iv.
Print. It does kind of have like a bluish tint to it and this is on hp zink paper. Cane and iv. You can use different kind of zinc papers in it and i ve done videos about that this here.
You might be able to use like the insta fix cartridge in it it s probably the same size. But i have not tried that yet i might do a different video trying that but here is the finished one my first time i got this with this green kind of streak running through there i don t know if those just because it was the first sure i ve ever printed with it or what i need to kind of warm up some. But i mean for one waste of a picture. That s not that bad and this here is the finished one and then if you compare them.
So. There you can see that this one here looks more more like the original photo and i will try to insert the original photo or just show you on my phone. Maybe like this one here looks more like the original. So this printer is probably going to give you way better quality than a sinc printer would i mean like i said.
This is this means actually are bigger for it to say like credit card size. These are bigger than this one this is bigger like a little bit bigger. So you can tell by that much it s it s pretty big well i mean. It s bigger you know so it s this is really good quality.
Honestly i might use this more than the iv because of the quality of it and sticky paper as well we re just gonna try this and see i m gonna peel. This one off just because i want to keep this for the art journal. So and i m not ready to peel that off yet but this one here we re gonna see what it does if i can focus here. So you should be able to go along this perforated edge here.
And do that but then it should aha it does feel off oh maybe it does it does. It is just gotta kind of get it a little well it says. It s sticky so it s not sticky. So far okay.
So this is not sticky good thing..
I didn t do that with this one. But it s it s not sticky on this side. But from what i understood. There is paper that you can get for this printer.
That does have a sticky back whether or not that is still considered like waterproof and stuff. I don t know i know this paper here is waterproof so i could print something out on this photo and like on this paper and embed it into resin and it would be fun like i might not even have to seal it i would still seal it just because you know just for extra protection. But this here like it could go into resin and it would be fine probably just the way. It is this you know kind of bummed out that it s not sticky.
But see it just does this it s like tearing the whole back of the picture off. But you would think it would be because of this being part right. There this is the paper while the cartridges. It includes the ink and the paper like i.
Said this is 50. Sheets this is 3499 for 50 sheets. Which is about the same price as like 50 for the canon iv. Or you know something like that it s it s kind of close to that i d have to look just to make sure.
But i mean honestly i think it d be worth it just have this because i really like the quality of these pictures. They re better. And it s portable just like the iv. Just like the sprocket just like all that it s portable.
I m not gonna stick on this because that s going fingerprints. But it s portable and you have better quality pictures than the iv. So it s definitely worth checking out then it gives you instructions on here how to load. It he doesn t really say on here if these are sticky papers.
But i would assume so because i don t know it said that i don t know who might be that i ll do a separate video on that but i hope you enjoyed this video that s just comparing it to pictures. What you would get with each one and like and subscribe. If you d like to see more of these ” ..
