Welcome to another dynamic do it yourself video and today im going to show show you how to clean your nasty stainless steel stovetop using some things some items you have in your pantry. Were going to use vinegar baking soda throw some dishwashing liquid. Some hot water and a sponge lets get started okay before we get started.
Please dont judge me. I know this looks disgusting and its disgusting because this is one chore. I hate cleaning the stovetop.
Im one of those rare creatures that cook every single day and at the end of the day. I dont feel like doing anything with this but the holidays are coming up you might have people over and you dont want them to see this so you get some get a spray bottle you could get one of these at the dollar tree store or any dollar store fill it with vinegar and well before i squirt get a paper towel. Lets get out the food.
Thats sort of just sitting here wipe it out look at that lets just wipe. It out okay step. One step.
Two use your vinegar and squirt evenly now vinegar is very acidic so with the grease and the grime thats on your stovetop. This will eat through it so to let the vinegar do its job. Were gonna let the vinegar sit on this for good 10 minutes then well go to the next step step.
3. Okay time has passed now were going to go into some old school science first i layered it with distilled white vinegar now im going to use some baking soda and what happens.
When baking soda and vinegar. Get together you get a chemical reaction. If you know the scientific name for this particular reaction you can put it down below.
In the comments. I would love to hear that because all i know it asks i know it as that magical combination that makes a volcano erupt in your science class in elementary school. So i just put my baking soda on there was a little fuzz a little fizzing reaction now im going to get my detergent.
It doesnt matter what detergent you have just as long as it is gentle and you just put a few little drops on top of this so get a sponge. I picked up this sponge and one of those big box stores. It has an abrasive side and it has a gentle soft side use the soft side stainless steel scratches.
Very easily and a lot of people hesitate to clean it because they dont want to scratch up the finish so. You use the soft side and get some hot water with its hot water you dip your sponge in okay. And you use the soft side.
And you just go ahead and give your stovetop a gentle scrub down now as you can possible you can probably see that some of the easier muck thats on this its coming up as you can see round here around the edges. This is really seriously baked in cooked in food. So you would have to go through this particular procedure.
A few times. Typically when im doing this i have some music going on in the background.
I would play some music. But i do not have the licensing rights to play my prints you know maybe throw on a little run dmc depending on your mood. How angry you are about doing this just find something to make the job a little bit easier so as you can see look at that thats disgusting.
I should be ashamed of myself for letting it get this bad. But you know sometimes you cant let these things hold you back as long as you do it dont beat yourself up okay. Now im going to give this a rinse.
Im going to work over this a little bit longer and then youre going to see a beautiful clean stovetop. So i really went to town on this because its been about a month. And as you can tell by my sponge.
Its a wreck. I removed the little components on top of the burners. I used a toothbrush.
I went around the edges and as you can see even when i went through and i stood my scrubbing. I still have a lot of baked on baked on food around the edges here. But truth be told this is better than the hot mess.
I started off with so now its time to get rid of all the baking soda the soap and i get a wet rag rat wet towel. Anything that you have and i am going through im giving it a nice gentle swipe here and as im going through wiping.
Theres still little grainy substance. There. But im getting most of the residue off then i use another rag or towel this soft because we dont want to scratch.
And i use this to go over basically to shine it up now. There are a lot of things that you can purchase online to go through and get special high shine and it cost you a lot of money. But here on the do it yourself theyre not dynamic do it yourself channel.
Its all about saving money and get the same effect. So here were using just baking soda and vinegar. Now.
Theres still like a little film here. You know spray some more vinegar on here give it a nice little extra help and give it a little bit more of gleam baked on food stays out stands out. But you know if i commit to doing this at least once a week that will soon be gone.
So now im putting my putting my stove back together. There. You have a night and day and we just used a couple of items that we had in our pantry.
