Today, khurak.net would like to introduce to you Chrono Trigger (DS) Walkthrough Part 1 – A Premonition . Following along are instructions in the video below:
“You re anything like me all i really care about is damage. I want to to hit as hard as possible i want to hit you as fast as i and i want to keep up that dps. It is the main goal in the division for me. And i think i ve been looking at it wrong this whole time.
I ve always looked at my weapons. And if it doesn t have a leg row with that 10 extra fire rate. I usually feel like the weapon is kind of trash because i m missing out on that huge chunk of rpm. But weapon handling might be my new favorite stat in a game.
And it is much more valuable than i previously thought i knew that it had value i knew that weapon handling was good. But i didn t know that it would fundamentally change. How some of these weapons. Performed and upped my dps in various ways.
So let s get into this hey everyone m test. Here and today. I wanted to talk about weapon handling and why it is so damn good if you can get it on your build. Now is it a must have maybe not but it brings so much value in such a condensed.
You know good way. It s like multiple things all together. And you add them all together. And it feels fantastic to use and i think that if you can get weapon handling.
There are some situations where you definitely want to go for it you know on your gloves. If you had to choose between 10 accuracy and you know a glove where you could get where is it where is it go back down 10 weapon handling you might want to consider it because weapon handling affects not only accuracy. But stability reload speed weapon swap speed and accuracy. It s actually all the stats now if you re looking at a you know a particular stat.
If you re looking at stability over weapon handling the stability is going to be stronger. If you re looking at 10 weapon handling versus 10 stability. The weapon will be more stable. If you go for the stability.
You get a percentage of weapon handling. But you re getting it for all of those stats. And if you can get a big chunk of it such as the braced perk on knee pads weapon handling becomes pretty damn valuable and i want to try to showcase that in this video now let s take a look at a pretty aggressive look at weapon handling. I ve got a regular classic m60 with you know regular stats in here.
We ve got some jazz hands on it and then we ve got another one with the unhinged perk. Which gives you minus 35 weapon handling and i want to show you the difference between these two weapons okay so we re gonna use i m gonna make sure i m the right one we re gonna use the first one and we re gonna notice that the reticle shrinks down now this is because of the accuracy on it and it s pretty damn stable to use now if we go to the other one you re gonna notice that the reticle does not shrink down. And it s got quite a bit more kick. Now you can t really see it because i m correcting.
But it is it is definitely kicking a lot more left to right and you re seeing that reticle is not shrinking. So using this while standing is pretty much a piece of garbage like you would never want to use this out in the open. But there s ways to combat this with a perk called braced now i ve got it ah. There we go right here.
Wow uncover weapon handling is increased by 25. So i d still be minus 10 weapon handling. But on this same one right so it doesn t it doesn t get smaller on the same one we can actually make it go pretty quickly and if we go look at the other one instant right look look it look it one bullet one bullet. You don t even have to shoot it just you use amen and it shrinks down right this one you gotta actually shoot to get it that small this one you does aim down sights.
So you can see the weapon handling especially on an lmg is having a colossal impact on this weapon. If you go too far into the negative. It makes it feel terrible if you go into the positive you can make it whoa. You can make this thing.
A laser beam and easy to control as well that also means that when you go to reload that weapon. You re gonna get a little bit more speed from it and when you stack this with some other perks you can see a very nice. Increase to your reload speed and your weapon swap. Speed.
I know that weapon swap. Speed. Night might not be that sexy. But in panic situations.
It could save your life and so the reason i wanted to bring this up is with a couple of stats. I ve got a an assault rifle here where is it right here this is my black market a can i have 15 weapon handling here. So with this i m getting that extra accuracy. And it makes this thing like it makes it a damn laser beam and if i m stacking it with braced.
I m talking i m talking i can i can snipe guys all the way down there for the most part and i think that people are sleeping on stability. They re sleeping on accuracy and the value of these because yeah damage to elites is awesome right damn. It s really too sweet i can get some awesome damage to elites here. But if you re missing your shots.
If you re not being accurate. Then you re not doing damage if someone was poking his head over this car here and i m kicking. Oh. I read an animal and and my gun is kicking like this and i can t hit his freaking head.
You re doing zero dps and so being accurate and being stable and being on target is much more important right if he s putting his head up there and i m just laser beam in that head right if that doorknob is his head and i could just stay right on target easily. You re gonna do more damage over time. And i think that accuracy stability those stats can t be slept on in this game. And so.
When you can get underneath that you can get 25 weapon handling and get both of those in a lump sum. And a little bit of reload speed thrown. In and a little bit. A weapon swap.
Speed. Are you kidding me weapon handling is turning me right on and in some cases. It might even be better on these weapons. Now typically people are gonna go for allegro.
Right with allegro you can get 10 rate of fire that is a buff to damage statistically mathematically. If you re hitting all your shots. Allegro is the best perk. Here and then this is actually very well rolled a km.
I could actually swap this out. But i ve chosen not to i ve chosen not to get a leg girl on this because it is so comfy to use this gun. I can hit heads. I can hit targets while they re moving.
I can i can run around and use this gun like i don t even have to be in cover and and it s pretty damn accurate to use and wow. I might be losing a little bit of that dps. I i feel like i m making up for it because in those situations. Where an enemy is just popping his head up there.
I can kind of just kind of just tap on there i can i can even kind of sustain fire here. And i end up hitting more shots. Because of it yeah. I m losing that 10 speed absolutely on a big target up close i m losing damage.
But in all those other situations. Where an enemy s running across here. I can really lay into him. I can land those shots.
And once i m out of ammo. I ve got an extra a little bit of reload speed. Too i m really loving getting handling on my stuff. I m really noticing the benefits especially with things like lm g s.
I mean using these things from cover..
Even this one. This one has a minus 35. But just with this braced perk alone it makes it pretty manageable. Pretty strong to use and then i reload like that really look nice and quick.
I ve got this crazy you know base damage on this i can get this way higher to like if i was on the demolition. This this would be even higher. But like i don t know this weapon handling if you go too far into the negative it really hurts you but if you go into the positive probably one of the best all around stats of the game for for for comfort for for making your your guns feel strong and honestly for dps just because you won t be missing as many shots. If you re on a console.
And you re using a controller that s stability and accuracy might be what you need to make the gun feel good to use. I know the akm people have said that it kicks. A lot well if you end up getting. Some handling on there it might be much much better for you so just a thing to think about in your build is this stat.
This optimize stat probably more valuable than you might think just because you get this does not mean you got a wasted role just because you can t get allegro and if you re looking at knee pads. You know of all the different perks you can get i think. Patience is a very good perk here. But it is so hard to put away braced after using braced especially with lmgs.
It is very very very very hard to put this away because of how nice it makes these weapons feel. So that s pretty much it for me guys thank you so much for watching hopefully you guys enjoyed if you guys could check out links in the description. I ve got a view sonic monitor in their view sonic has sponsored the channel. They make amazing monitors the quality on them the picture.
The the reaction speed fantastic. And if you re looking for a wicked energy drink. Something just just perk you up just to really give me that energy link in description as well to advance gg. They make a product called focus no sugar added no calories.
I drink it to get me amped up and ready to go and there s no crash after thanks for watching i ll see you soon and bye bye. What s that oh you want me to kiss your sweet little elbow over your over up take a little of that oh shit oh whoa. potion here and over here this guy is going to talk about save points. If you need to if you need help saving your game.
There are two ways to save your game. While two methods of saving your game. One you can always save on the overworld. So like the overworld that we came in to get to the mayor manner.
You can always save out there. And then you can also save at these safe points. There little sparkly points. Now this is just a replica.
But you ll see them throughout the game. And at them you can also use an item called shelters. Which this guy talks about shelters are basically what the inns do fully restore your hit points and magic points. Now if you re uncomfortable with chrono trigger.
You haven t played through the game. Before it s very helpful to heal up when you re unsure about where you re at because you never know when you might need to be healed up ah. I ve played this game like 50 to 100 times. I kid you not i love this game.
So much i could sit down and play it whenever and always enjoy it so i know how to get through this game inside and out so i don t there s times. Where i won t even shelters. Because i don t need to this lady will talk about menu shortcuts menu shortcuts are a ds thing that you can use on the touchscreen. I personally never really used them that s a personal taste thing again up here you can learn about some of the ins and outs of combat.
This guy s going to teach you about that tack command or the battle commands attack tech and item when your battle gauge fills up and you re ready to make an action you can use an attack. Which is your basic attack. This is your weapon. So swords guns.
Whatever your character uses a basic attack text..
We ll get into in a second with the guy to the left and items items are self explanatory. It s whatever items you want to use throughout the battle. And if you talk to this guy. He s going to go over tex now tex are important texts are the magic system of chrono trigger there are so many different types of text there are healing text.
There are status texts. There are magic text there s melee tex. The first example that they show is actually kind of important because this is chronos first tech. That you start with called cyclone cyclone will hit all enemies in an area so the example shows hey if you hit that if you target the top enemy.
It only hit the top two enemies because it hits in a radius. If you target that middle enemy. Though you can hit all three enemies now different texts have different types of attack radius as some attacking lines some attack around the character themselves some attack in areas some attack just one character and some hit everybody on the screen and like i said there s different types of attacks. There are magical type attacks there s four elements in chrono trigger magic dark light water and fire there s also ice.
But that s considered water just so you don t get confused if i ever say ice magic. It s the same as water magic. They re both classified under the same thing and certain enemies may be completely immune to magic or they may be weak to several types of magic and immune to different types of melee at pax so you have to really understand the different types of enemies and you have to use what s best against magic and understanding magic is essential to learning how to be crona chur. And there s also other types of magic like i said healing magic is very important something a lot of people don t know about chrono trigger.
And it took me forever to find this out you can actually use healing magic outside of battle typically speaking. You can get through the entire game of chrono trigger with minimal potion usage on in the game might be the only time you actually need potions because most of the time you ll have somebody on your party. Who can heal. You yes enlighten me.
With insights basically when you finish a battle. You will gain gold experience and tech points type points. Will help level up your tech s the more tech points. You have the more texts you get access to every character has eight base single text and then depending on what experience your characters have they can eventually learn dual types and triple text.
Which you can use with multiple team party members this lady s going to teach you about status effects status effects are very straightforward if you re familiar with video gaming in general. Most of the stuff should be familiar with you i know a lot of my viewers watch me for pokemon so if you ve played pokemon before a lot of this stuff should seem familiar a lot of it s just basic video game status effects. If you re younger and you re new to video games. Some of this stuff might be new i status effects will be throughout the game.
But mostly bosses tend to use them there are a few generic enemies that use them you can use a panacea to completely remove them during battle. Or you can just wait them out and then she ll also mention the ko status. If you get knocked out in combat. You can t attack or do anything with that fallen party.
Number you can use an athenian water or a tech to revive them most of the texts that revive though are late game so you won t get access to them for a while so athenian waters are probably going to be what you use if you need them during the battle if the battle ends and they re still kayode. They were revived after the battle with one hip point so you can heal them up after the battle this guy mentions l. R buttons can be used to run away from combat. I actually did not know this for the longest time.
I probably played through this game five or six times without knowing you could run from battle. Honestly i highly recommend that you try not to run from most battles. I personally think that chrono trigger is a game that you don t want to run from battles. Very much you ll fall behind and it s not good to do if you fight everything you ll be you won t ever have the level grind to beat this game.
If you just fight everything. And do everything chrono triggers. The only exception to this would be if you re trying to do a low level run. But if you re watching this for guide purposes.
You re probably not wanting to do a low level run creditor can actually be beaten at pretty low levels. If you re experienced enough down. Here is a lucas house. There s nothing to do there.
Now only her mom is there you can talk to her if you want odd you can come back there later in the game for items. But for now. There s nothing to do and then up here is the gardea forest. If you want to get familiar with combat and you want to get comfortable with the game in general go to the guardian forest.
It s a good place to try things out..
However. I m going to cover it at a later point in time when you actually have to go through it for the enemies. There are all pretty low leveled. And it s pretty easy to get experience.
There if you need any experience learning. The basics you can go to the zenon bridge. If you want there s people who are all heading to the fair nothing much to do that bridge will lead you down to the southern continent and down here. There s another village and this village is the village of poor now.
It is helpful to remember locations. Because i will reference them a lot if you have to go here. At later points in the game. Truce is your hometown pours down here.
There is another mayor manor. But this mayor house doesn t teach how to play the game. It actually has a very interesting mayor to say the least you can spin around three times and click like a chicken weird. 10 gold hey.
It s free money. Ah you can actually do that infinite number of times. If you want i don t recommend that as a method to grind gold. But if you need some extra gold there you have it most of his kids hate him.
He s apparently a very greedy mayor. More sealed chess and then there s also a chest right. There that contains a free shelter. Never know when you might need one of those shelters are one of the most useful items in the game.
Just because they fully heal up your team. I want to go to the fair. Too i want to go to the fair. But i ll be doing that next part and then there s also a in down here.
If you want to sleep. And there s a market that you can buy things that i m going to cover buying stuff at the millennial fair. Next. Part and then there s also a snow shop.
This will come in handy later in the game. Yes. Some monsters can coexist with humans don t be surprised. If you see monsters throughout the game.
The world doesn t just consist of humans very very important to understand this guy will sell you spicy jerky. You ll want to buy that later way down the road like towards the end of the game. But for now don t worry i know you don t have that kind of money and the piano player will actually play you some songs you won t actually be able to hear these songs till somewhat later in the game. So i guess.
That s kind of cool and then there is one last thing we can do on the overworld. We can ride the ferry yay. It s ten gold one way trip it ll take you between truce and poor. There s absolutely no reason to do this it s just something cool that you can do that the game developers put in so that wraps up this part.
I know it was a little bit boring. And there was a lot of information will be experiencing experiencing a little bit more action next part anyways. We can now head back to truce and next time. We will cover the millennial faire that is all for this video.
Thank you and good night you ” ..
Thank you for watching all the articles on the topic Chrono Trigger (DS) Walkthrough Part 1 – A Premonition . All shares of khurak.net are very good. We hope you are satisfied with the article. For any questions, please leave a comment below. Hopefully you guys support our website even more.
Intro video ends at 2:46, but you should watch it because it s awesome.
Video is best viewed in 720p quality (I d upload in 1080 quality but it doesn t make a difference from 720 since the DS s quality is only so high). I also recommend the “large” video viewer. Chrono Trigger tends to have small font and an art style that doesn t come off well on videos even when taken straight from the game.
Edit: In the Mayor Manor, if you talk to the middle guy on the upper stairs a second time, he ll give you 300 gold, I forgot to mention it when filming and was going to point it out in a later video but I ll put an edit here as well.
Chrono Trigger, my favorite game ever and a game you should check out if you ve never played it before. I m super excited to make this walkthrough and I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoy playing and making it.
The goal is to release a video every Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday at 5 P.M. Eastern U.S. time unless otherwise announced. I m in college, sometimes I may have to cancel due to too much work. Another thing that could delay me is video issues, I m working with 8 video tracks and this stuff takes forever to export and upload. Follow me on Facebook and Twitter to stay up to date with any changes.
I have worked super super hard on making a fancy looking screen layout, sort of like how I used to do sidebars. Screen layout is as followed:
Left screen: DS top screen
Top right screen: DS bottom screen
Bottom left screen: “Sidebar” Provides information on games enemies, items, and techs.
Bottom left box: Year and area
Middle left box: Current song name or video name
Right left box: Current party members, blacked out means they haven t been met yet, grayed out means they aren t currently playable, color means they can be used in battle, the left 3 are my current party being used.
Right bottom stuff: Annotations to skip between parts and go to the playlist
The bucket thing in the far bottom right: Will lead to alternate game endings, they won t be updated till after the walkthrough is finished.
Special thanks to Kyoushiro/Collette for helping me with the walkthrough and XeroDragon for the ending picture.
Thank You and Enjoy!
