Today, khurak.net would like to introduce to you Cancelled Orders On Amazon. Following along are instructions in the video below:
“Everybody in today s video. We re gonna talk about canceled orders on amazon we we re gonna talk about what is a canceled order we re going to talk the cancellation rate that amazon has and we re going to talk about as an amazon buyer. What do you do when the seller cancels. An order.
And what do you do when they sell our request that you cancel the order. So i decided to make this video because recently for i don t know why i received a bunch of cancelled orders from from sellers. So what i mean by that is i m the buyer. I m buying a book on amazon to flip and then the seller cancels.
The order. So there was a few things i wanted to talk about that i think will help you in your business. So first. What the heck is a cancelled order alright so a cancel the order is it s not the same as a return or a refund right a cancelled order means you ve ordered the book and the seller is not going to send it to you they did not ship it yet and you wouldn t be charged.
So that s a cancelled order different than a return or a request for a return when the book has been shipped all right so. Here s the cancellation rate. And this is this verbatim from amazon s website. And this is a cancellation rate.
Now if you re only selling fba you much don t really care too much about this..
But i m just wanted to make you aware that this is something that merchants are very concerned about they need to keep an eye on their cancellation rate as you and as you can see it needs to be under two and a half percent all right so this is what happens when you get you might get an email from a seller that the order has been cancelled right this this is a good email right. It s not great for you as the buyer who wants to flip the book. But it does happen right for whatever reason they lost the book they can t find it or they sold it on another platform. These things will happen.
And this is what should happen from the sellers perspective you get an email. The book has been cancelled now what do you do when the book has been cancelled. So if you re using our system. You would have this view.
That s just inbound and this would let s just use let s use this mathematic. This is just an example you would just simply go in here. And you would change the status from inbound to cancel. Okay now if you wanted to write we might write a remark you could you know who the seller was or whatever.
But i ll just mark it cancelled and then and they ll disappear from the view. Now if you were using a prep center. You d want to either delete. It yourself off to the prep centers.
Whether they re using air table or google sheets or just let. Them know so. That you don t have that book sitting out there. And then i ve got another view of made up just as cancel daughters all right so you can go in here.
Just to see your canceled. Daughters and what you might want to do actually right before this video. I decided to say to myself well i wonder what my cancellation rate is as a buyer. I don t sell merch and fulfill books.
But i did want to figure it out it s really easy to figure out using the system. We have and and my cancellation rate was two point three percent which i thought was kind of interesting being that the threshold is two point five. Now if you figured out your own cancellation rate. And it was significantly higher you may want to look at the people you re buying from the sellers right that will certainly have an impact the lower the feedback rating.
I would imagine the higher the cancellation rate you would get okay. But anyway. That s how you would figure out your own cancellation rate and this is the email that you would get from a seller. All right now here s some other ones that are interesting that you would get and this is going this is going back to here as on amazon buyer.
What do you do when the seller requests you to cancel an order..
So remember why would they do that they re doing that because of the cancellation rate. They don t want their cancellation rate to go up so they will send you emails that look something like this and i m not going to read it to you you can see. But basically what they re doing they re asking you to cancel the order. And so that s one example here s another and they re kind of polite and they re telling you the reason.
Why and then this one kind of takes the cake. He wants me to go through a seven step process. And what do they say here that s almost comical. They say that you are obligated to do this right you ll be obligated to rico.
Actually no no no i won t i don t think so. So you know i m pretty good about you know i m not being nasty to anybody you want to be cordial. But i think on this one i just responded. I said i am not obligated you are obligated to cancel the order now here s why you don t want to do these steps in my opinion amazon keeps records on everything as you might imagine and you may or may not know they don t want you to they don t want you as a buyer or the seller to have a high return rate or cancellation rate and i believe that in the background.
There is a cancellation rate for you being the buyer right somewhere. I m sure they re tracking. It and they have a profile on all of us right on all kinds of data and i m sure seller central doesn t have access to it but it s somewhere in the background that kind of tells them what type of buyer and or seller. You are so you don t want to cancel sales that if you don t have to so you know what you ought to do if you get something like this i just respond back to the sellers.
And say no you re gonna cancel the order..
I m not canceling it not to mention the fact that they re just really placing additional work on your end. As you re that you re an amazon customer. You shouldn t be having to jump through a seven step hoops. Although it may not take too long they need to take care of that so that s my advice on what you should do i would never go ahead and cancel on order that due to a sellers mistake all right the last thing is just a couple summary things we talked about the cancellation rate being under two and a half percent now you may not know this.
Let s say you make a mistake. And i ve done this you will you buy a book and for whatever reason. You know you just made a mistake you bought the wrong book or whatever you do have up to 30 minutes to cancel it so you can just go in and cancel the order right after you made it and you won t be charged you know if it s after 30 minutes. What you could do is just send an email to the seller.
And i ve done this in. Well. Say hey i ve made an error. I m buying this book can you cancel it for me.
And if they haven t shipped it usually they ll go ahead and cancel it all right and as already mentioned do not cancel. Otherwise if the seller made the mistake. I would have them cancel the order rather than you that s it for cancellations hope you found this video. ” .
