Guys. Im gonna do a video comparing two hair dryers. Then i have and and i love them both and theyre very similar and this is more so review on this second one that im gonna mention.
But im kind of comparing the model that this new one has replaced at the same time. I dont know i just thought this might be helpful because both of these models that im about to show are still for sale. The first generation you can obviously get less expensive than the new one so its a good time to buy that one if youre interested after this review.
You might decide that you want to give it a try or you might decide you know what this new one looks so much better and ive been wanting a new hairdryer. A nicer one and it looks like its worth this large. I dont know what youre thinking.
But thats why im gonna do the video and hopefully itll be helpful for some people so the two hair dryers are the cheat air vibe. Hair. Dryer and the chi touch hair dryer.
Now she has started doing these touch screen hair dryers about a year to ago. I think thats when i got introduced at least this one was like a year and a half ago and i know that theres one other touch screen model that they have its black in between these two i dont get called the chi touch. And so i dont know if this is the first one or if thats the first one or what.
But what were gonna call it for the sake of this video is this is the first generation and this is the second generation that was just released this year. Kind of in the springtime this one came out as far as i know so the basics. Im just gonna describe a few comparisons of the and then ill kind of go in a little bit more detail in this one.
And then ill finish up with kind of talking about this one i do have a video where im demonstrating drying my hair with this dryer. So you may be interested in going back. And watching that first of all the screen on this one is three inches.
Big and on this one. Its like two and a quarter inches. So this one definitely has a bigger screen on it both of these have a cool shot button right here and right here.
So its in the exact same location this one its a little easier to press. Because the button is like it sticks out further whereas this one. Its a little bit more hidden.
Which is the good thing because when youre holding on to the dryer like this and drying your hair. You dont want to accidentally press. The cool shot button and start blowing your head with cool air.
If you dont intend to you dont know what the cool shot button is for a lot of people dont use it to be honest. I dont really use it on a day to day basis. But the cool shot button is used to kind of seal in the cuticle of your hair.
So say youre using a round brush and youre putting in a style into your hair. Youve warmed up the hair. Youve created the style and while its still in the brush shooting.
It with the cool shot. And thats like setting your hair in place. So.
That it just holds the style long bear seals. The cuticle. Yeah you got it as far as ions are concerned.
This one on the description. It says that it has an ionizing energy ions for your hair. At least eliminate frizz.
They make your style look more sweet they just came down your hair. Its the shaft of your hair cuticle is all rough and everything an ion is gonna help smooth it out and make it like super sleek thats what an ion does if you have thick coarse hair. Youre gonna want more ions.
If you have really fine hair. Like me youre probably not going to need the ions or at least as many to create your style without frizz just because for me. Ive noticed if i have too many ions in a style or in a hairdryer sometimes it just kind of makes my hair look flat and lifeless.
So thats just something to consider.
So yeah. This one has an ionizing energy this one is actually described as it has a 3d ion generation system in it and what that does is it gives off three times more ions than its predecessors. If you have really thick and coarse hair.
You can put those three times. The ions on full blast and really get sweet hair. This is going to allow you to do that better than this one they both have ceramic heat technology.
Which is kind of like the chi air dryer signature. And what that does is it just allows the hair dryer to heat more evenly so its gonna heat your hair more evenly which is very good that way youre not getting your hair fried in certain places. And it also helps to kind of dry your each strain of your hair from the inside out rather than from outside of the hair shaft.
If that makes any sense whatsoever. Ceramic also known its kind of like a moist heat. And again it just heats more evenly think of like the licorice a ceramic cast iron skillets like the dutch ovens and brazzers and just that that french cookware company its ceramic cast iron and what the ceramic does on it is and what makes this brand so popular and work.
So well is that ceramic coating allows for the heat to kind of be dispersed. Throughout the entire pot. And that way.
Its not just heating in one specific little small area on the bottom of the pot. But its kind of just first everywhere thats ceramic technology and a pot so just kind of translate that in your head to a hairdryer and you can imagine how the ceramic technology is going to be so much better for your hair. Because its just dispersing the heat evenly on your shaft.
And its gonna make your hair look more healthy and kind of keep a lot of the moisture in your hair and make it not look sad fried. So ions and ceramic technology are wonderful for making your hair look healthy after youve just blasted it with all this heat from a hair dryer. I wanted to talk about the weight of these two this one weighs about a pound.
This one is definitely lighter. I wasnt able to find a specific amount. But this one weighs on the descriptions.
But its definitely lighter in terms of just appearance. Its more sleek its its very similar in size. I will say that but if you look at it maybe this way you can tell its just a little more sleek and compact.
Its slimmer. Its not like this part here is not as big you can see it really well there so its definitely sleeker so it doesnt look quite as big in your hand for all of you that were like man that dryer looks so huge this one also comes with a diffuser and of course this nozzle. Which can its good for concentrating the heat on a particular part of your hair like when youre styling.
It you can concentrate the heat in one area rather than it just going everywhere. Youre both very very quiet. They both have this kind of like a very smooth sleek.
But rubberized coating and its really good for non slip. Its not gonna just without it they both also have a memory to them so if you control your heat settings. And you get it all perfectly the way that you want it its going to remember.
It. The next time you plug in the hair dryer to music. So.
Say i dont want any ions in my hair at all i turn that all the way down. Then the next time. I go to plug in my hair dryer.
It remembers this blast settings. Which is nice it does that for both of these. As far as the controls that both of these allow or this when you look at this screen.
It has two controls you can adjust the speed by moving your finger up and down. And then you can also adjust the temperature by moving your finger up and down on this one you kind of have like a speedometer design. And this is the new one remember and so this speedometer.
It allows you to control the speed much more precisely so instead of just taking the speed up and down. Youve got what looks like a speedometer you can take this speed from like zero to sixty lets just say and really get it precise you can also control the temperature. Just like the other one you can control the ions so again.
If you have very fine hair.
And you dont want all those ions because you want a little bit of that texture to your hair. Then you can turn this ions. All the way off or you can do them low to medium or medium.
And you know you can put it wherever you want on this dial. Whats so wonderful about that is you can really tailor your blowout to your particular hair type. So thats why hair dryers like this are more expensive because when you get hair dryers like a con air 2999.
Dryer from walmart or target or whatever. Its kind of like a one size fits all you turn it on high you turn it on low maybe it maybe has a cool shot. But it might produce a ton of ions and you may not might not need that for your hair or it might not produce any ions at all and you kind of need that and you know so so on and so forth with these especially with this new one it just allows you to really get like that perfect blow out you can make it to where the temperatures not too hot.
But kind of hot or you might be like i need all the heat that i can possibly get let me put that on there or you might want to do kind of a cool blow dry. If youre the type of person that likes to air dry your hair. Normally just one a little bit of a more tailored style.
So it just really allows you to make this blow dry and experience completely customized to you. Which is nice this is the box that she touched to came in and its got a really nice box this comes with a diffuser like this that you can pop on here. If you take off this concentrator nozzle.
Again this one came with a diffuser also i cant tell you how big. It is compared to this one because ive never used it before and again. I dont have the box.
So. But one really great thing about this one is it comes with two products inside it comes with a travel iron guard. Which i use this every time.
I heat style my hair and its so good i even have started putting it on just before i blow dry. I used to only use it if i knew i was going to be using a curling wand or iron or flat iron or whatever now i use it just about every single time. And its awesome so this is so good for traveling and then also the silk infusion silk reconstructing complex which is good for putting that shine back in your hair so thats nice that it comes with these two little products so some final thoughts.
I guess both of these full retail are about 200. This one. I was able to find an amazon for 125 this again is that first generation or something like that yes.
Theres another just be warned. Theres a qi touch out there. Its black that looks similar to this one.
But that is not it different. This is the chi touch to remember that and this one is the cheapest. I was able to find it was 189 at ulta and ill put this links down below for yall.
And then just like the final thing. I guess comparing them. See how the handles are different this one goes out.
Its like completely just curved and this one even curved down here. But then it becomes concave right here and this just makes it easier to hold on to its just it kind of fits into your hand more naturally than this one you know like this one just feels so much better in your hand. It just it fits your hands back.
Okay. I guess. Thats it with these two hair dryers.
Theyre both great great hair dryers. I remember when i first started using this one last year and again go back and watch my youtube video on like how i dry my hair day to day. Its very very simple.
And it might be like two frizzy looking for some of you when i do my hair. I kind of like it does look a little bit frizzy because it just looks volumize for me and then throughout the day. My natural oils and my hair will start to kind of calm down and make it look more sleek so in that video.
Ive looked back at it a little bit. Im like i dont know how good my hair. Really looks there.
But thats just how i do it so thats the whole point of the video.
I guess to showing you how i do my hair. But i again i did use this dryer in there and i remember i just started using this dryer. When i did that video.
And i remember being so impressed with this dryer compared to my other one which again. I mean that one was a pretty expensive dryer. The one that i used before this it was a hot tool ceramic like feather light.
I cant remember the name of it. But it was like 80 or 90 dollars or something so it definitely wasnt like i was going from a dryer. I picked up at walgreens to this one.
I was using a pretty nice one. But this one just made so much difference it gave my hair volume. But it made it look look more sleek and it my hair dried faster thats the other thing about this ceramic technology is it makes your hair dry it says 50 quicker then with another dryer which i can say it definitely makes it dry quicker.
I dont know about 50. But every now and then all use a cheap dryer from like the drugstore or something. And im like how on earth would i did i ever use this dryer before because its just like oh.
Its too hot or either. Its too cold and my hair feels fried. Im like if i go on vacation.
Id normally dont take a dryer with me because i can use the one at the hotel and then when im there im like gosh my hairs looking awful. I wish i would have brought my dryer so its hard to go back to another dryer after youve used one of these if youre buying one for the first time. And i would say if you have thick coarse hair.
You may want to do this one because i feel like its gonna make your hair more sleek because you get three times the amount of ions if you dont have thick. Coarse hair. And you dont want that those ions.
Remember you can fully customize how many ions you have and you can take that dial down to zero. So that theyre not coming out at all. I use this one day today.
I use this today again i really love it especially how sleek. It is and its a little bit lighter. Id say than this one.
But if youre kind of on more of a budget which i mean the even at 125 dollars. Thats very expensive for a dryer. I definitely get that but if you dont really need that sleekness to your hair.
And you just kind of want to upgrade from what youve been using. I would say this is totally good also this 125 one. But um.
I mean hey youre spending that much money on it i would just go all out and probably get this one just because it i feel like it just looks. I like black more than i like red. But thats just me okay guys.
